How To Double, Triple or Even Quadruple Your Business Profits
Toward the end of November I began positioning our clients for a fast start to increased results in the next year. Each person was assigned the task of preparing the detailed business plan for 2014. Of course I am guiding them on how to do this and I am being guided by my coach and mentor Meir Ezra.
There is a lot of foundational material behind the following outline that includes seminars, courses and more. As you read this understand there is an exact process to follow and that leads me to the one statement that when I heard Meir first say it in November 2012 started a whole new journey for me. That is: “if you follow the process, you cannot fail!”
Step 1: Write The Plan
With every client we move along a gradient scale. What that means is every person has different levels of experience and their plan will mirror their ability to implement. Regardless of experience, every client needs to have a very clear starting point backed by data. The data for established companies will include the history of sales, gross profit, expenses profit, cash and more. The data tells us the condition of the business. With that definition we will apply the right formula.
Clients just starting their business are in a non-existent condition for that business so the first step is for to make themselves known in the market place. Clients with weakening performance are in a danger condition and the first step for that condition is for the owner to by- pass key people and routines. There are six primary conditions and related formulas. The conditions apply to the company and to positions in the company. Graphing the data gives us the condition. Once know we know what to do – apply the right formula.
Know your condition as you move into 2014 so when you define your performance targets you are already implementing the right actions to achieve the targets. The performance targets include all major statistics: sales, profit, cash, debt, owner’s reserve as an example. The plan needs to address scope of business. For example we have real estate investors now expanding from doing their first residential deal to looking at multi-family buy and hold, being a referring funding partner, new construction and more. They are moving along the gradient scale. We have a client with a retail business now looking to expand the product offer, add an online store and open new locations. Candidly with any of these people if I would have begun to paint the expanded picture when I first started working with them they would not have believed it and they likely would have become stuck.
At this point clients are at the stage of the plan being an operating plan. We are currently looking at a near term horizon which for most is the year. For most a more strategic view is still emerging . Right now what is most important is for each to achieve their income goals as that will fuel strategic development.
Company targets are measurements behind the company plan. The company plan and targets are supported by sub-plans or mini plans. The mini plans have scope of business and targets. For example the retailer has a plan and targets for his main location and a plan for the online business and new locations. The real estate investor has a plan and target for the total business and mini plans for the residential buy fix and resale segment, the multi-family buy and hold segment and so on. Another client has plans for providing tech services to different market segments like home based businesses, businesses with employees, professional service firms, restaurants and more. The key is to have a specific mini plan for each segment or niche where you are developing business. Like your company operating plan the min-plan has specific performance targets.
This outline is very similar to the detailed material presented in my book Building Business Profits Fast The difference now is the additional information on defining conditions of the business and positions and apply the right formula for the condition. Since many reading this may not understand completely the condition part of this outline I recommend defining your company and mini plan targets with a huge emphasis on programs to nurture existing customers and massively expand through effective marketing and PR for new customers or deals.
Step 2
Program your annual company and mini plan into monthly and weekly plans. For our tech services client we have daily income targets. We are moving in that direction with our retail products store client and professional services client.
Step 3 Define Daily Targets for Each Task
Define the daily tasks that must be done to achieve the weekly and monthly targets. For example a number of daily tasks for every client are in the category of marketing. Real estate investors are calling realtors and other people connected with properties. A professional services person is calling prospective clients or people who may be connected to prospective clients.
Normally email marketing and social media marketing is part of the tasks that are performed. The key is a clear definition of the number of calls, the number of emails, the number of postings to groups on Facebook or LinkedIn as an example and the number is targeted by day. We have an excel spreadsheet set up for this that we call Target and Statistics.
Once set up for the week, there is one more action that is the key to achieving the targeted tasks and that action is scheduling the time on the calendar for getting the tasks done. This one action usually improves productivity by 50% or more.

Those are the words that first caught my attention in November 2012. Since that time I have invested over 1,000 hours in training with Meir Ezra and supporting resources. It is not the training that results in the guarantee. It is the application of the training that allows Meir to clearly state with every product offered that he guarantees you will be happy with the event or course or coaching. What Is The Secret Behind Offering An Iron Clad Guarantee?
There is not secret! Here is the formula and I know because I now work with him and I am responsible for the Division that delivers coaching and courses. The formula.
1. Deliver amazing content that is so valuable for building a business and is founded on principles of personal ethics and happiness.
2. Structure a coaching system where the client sees progress daily and when they do not they understand what action is needed. This system like other business processes begins with clear targets. These targets are part of a bigger picture of developing a client organization that has seven divisions in harmony. The faster the client is able to produce income the sooner the idea scene can be painted. The daily and weekly focus is on answering the question “what do I need to do today to get the lead that I want, sell the product or service I want – in other words what do I need to do today to achieve my daily weekly monthly etc goals?” Of course that is how the client is guided by the coach.
3. Meir leads the team that delivers the services to the clients. This does not just mean he is at the top of the Organization Board. This means he tracks everything that is being done and in the case of coaching there is a third party quality control system that includes a written report and a recording that goes directly to Meir and the coach.
4. Meir Ezra teaches and lives the principle “we are the cause”! This means if the client is not succeeding it is because of the teacher not the client unless there is a personal behavior barrier for the client. Even then Meir’s view is let’s help the person then we can restore helping them build their business.
This is only a “birds eye” view of the process. For me personally, I have consistently achieved success with coaching clients. Now that I am applying what Meir teaches, I am seeing the success curve increasing much more rapidly. Here is one example and we have quite a few developing at this point: One of our clients has a definitive skill but was not using that skill to make money. He was working on an idea for a different business when we met him. Meir looked at this situation and in a couple minutes outlined the plan for him making money. I called him today since he had not responded to several emails and he is normally very good about that. He apologized and said he has just been busy working with companies and making money. I will get an update on then numbers in a few days. I already know he is on track to exceed his targeted monthly income.
I will end with this: As a coach I am accountable for the success of those I coach. As a Div Head I am accountable for the success of all in the coaching program. With the support of Meir Ezra and by following the processes the clients will achieve and in most cases exceed their success expectations. Strong Growth Will Overcome All The Economic Problems
Planning, organizing and promotion are at the core of strong business growth. That can be like saying go to the doctor if you have a serious medical condition. What is really needed is the right resource for what you are wanting to accomplish. Bill O’Reilly there is no race issue. There is an issue with everyone thinking they have the answer and that answer is to control someone else.
Bill why did you avoid the real issues including:
1. The impact of welfare on divorce and out of marriage pregnancy. Come on Bill you want Obama to run ads telling black women not to get pregnant- really?
2. Legalize the drugs – yes that is correct. Study prohibition. You want to throw the book at people selling drugs. How has that been working? Take the economics out of it. Nobody has the balls to address this idea. Too political too much risk for my job. Well I am not owned by Fox or anyone and I tell you let’s go toe to toe on this one. We have had decades of the same approach and none of it has worked.
Bill O’Reilly you went after Obama and his leadership. Have you gone after his leadership on the other scandals that are so public right now. Did you go after anyone for creating new diversion from the other big issues/scandals that remain outstanding?
Bill O’Reilly we need leadership in the media. Glenn Beck,Rush, Wayne Allyn Root, Hannity are asking the tough questions. You can too and you need to be. We are counting on you.
One of the major lessons for me this year has been the realization of how many words I assume I and others know and clearly do not. One important example is the word success. What does it mean?
The word success is defined many ways. Some say it is a large bank account. Others say success is freedom to do what they want when they want. I have received no less than twenty different definitions when I have asked this question of audiences when I speak.
Before I continue I would like to reach an agreement with you which is: nothing I write is true unless it is true for you. I learned this agreement from my friend Meir Ezra and I love this agreement and use it now more frequently when I write and coach.

Recently I remembered that in 2010 I was emphasizing the use of the Daily Top 5. While this seemed to fade away when I began using the Accelerated Accountability Worksheet which is a weekly time management system I realized the Daily Top 5 should be elevated as part of my own work and I am again coaching students on using this as well.
Now I have a small journal that I can easily carry with me and each day – usually first thing in the morning I am writing my Top 5 – the 5 most important things I want to accomplish that day. Of course these tie to my Vision Board and other tools. However there is one key difference. My Top 5 includes health, self development and relationship goals and often my three foundation tools are mostly business development focused. Having said that I am adjusting the vision board and accelerated accountability worksheet to reflect my health and relationship priorities. Increasingly I am linking all of this to a bigger picture life mission statement which I am still in the process of clarifying.
I am taking the guidance of Les Brown that I heard in a recent interview with him where he talked alot about being able to do more to serve and leave a stronger legacy when he is gone. Now here is a guy who already has made a huge difference in the lives of many. If he is thinking about doing more, I think that is sage advice. I am following it and hope you do as well.

Author Robin Sharma writes in The Monk Who Sold His Ferrrari that those who experience deep happiness daily are prepared to defer short-term pleasure for the sake of long term fulfillment. Harold’s story appeared in the December 12, 2012 issue of Forbes Life. For those who may not be familiar with Continental Resources, they have the largest position in Bakken field and he says they will double their oil output again over the next five years. (It is worth your time to look up Bakken field in your favorite search engine.)
There are several very important points in Harold’s story:
1. He learned as a teenager that if we follow our passion in life we will do well.
2. Harold wrote a thesis in high school about petroleum and discovered he wanted to become an explorationist. This became a dream he strove to come true.
3. In pursuing his dream he sought out mentors to teach him.”I became obsessed learning from them day and night.” He names his mentors in the article because he says “they were willing to show a hungry young man about the industry and teach him what they spent years learning.
4.” No matter what, you’ve got to follow your passion in life and always keep on learning”

Today the Wall Street Journal reported and interview with Nokia’s former chief designer Frank Nuovo. Frank discusses how Nokia’s research and development team had prototypes of the smartphone and tablet with many of the popular features developed and marketed by Apple years later. The difference is that Nokia never brought the products to market and Apple did. Frank goes on to say that Nokia’s corporate culture was great in supporting research and development but lacked the culture of execution. Nokia just didn’t execute. Now the earnings for Nokia have plummeted and the company is playing catch up to survive.

My friend George Ross (Donald Trump’s Executive Vice President) is passionate about 20% of all we do delivers 80% of our results. The Top 20% make up the A List. I have found this to be absolutely true in my own ventures and with the business owners I coach regardless of the business niche. Identifying the Top 20% is not difficult. However, the key to success is execution or taking action to implement the Top 20%. A related action is the continual review of the A List to confirm all items are still an A. Several people I coach are working business models that have more than a normal risk of not being successful. That is not typical of all the people I work with. My responsibility is to guide all on the successful performance of the business selected as measured by an increasing rate of revenue and profits. These are reasons for being stuck. They are not the why or the foundation of being stuck.
In my experience coaching hundreds of business owners and leaders, there is a main element at the core of a person or company that is the why. That core is….. FEAR.
“Success Is An Inside Job” which is why I spend about 20% of my coaching time advising business owners and leaders on how to strengthen their “Internal Guidance System”.
Once we address the core element of FEAR there are many additional steps to getting marketing, talent, systems and capital in alignment. I will address some of those in future articles and videos. As for FEAR and other negative emotions, I have been publishing articles for nearly four years to subscribers of my Manifest Mastermind program with most of the content being free. 2. Buy a high quality journal that is leather bound and has high quality paper.
3. Buy the Daily Word and Science of Mind (Google them)
4. Buy the Yes Attitude by Jeffrey Gittomer (Amazon)
5. Have your own resources that will help you. The classic Think and Grow Rich is fantastic as well as all the books by Catherine Ponder, Jerry and Esther Hicks, Neil Donald Walsch, Wayne Dyer, Randy Gage and more like them.
6. Commit to a minimum of 15 minutes each day and ideally 30 -60 minutes reading the Daily Word, Science of Mind and Yes Attitude ( at some point you will finish the Yes Attitude and then replace it . Spend additional time with a book like Think and Grow Rich
7. Write in your journal the most compelling guidance from any of these resources that you want to focus on and have make a difference in your life. Now you can see why I advise invest in a journal. This is where very valuable thoughts and ideas go. There are many ways you can use a journal. At a minimum do what I am suggesting.
8. Carry the journal with you when possible or note cards from your journal and then when you catch yourself doing or saying something that represents a behavior you are intending to change refer to your journal for guidance. If you are journaling that you are going to take some forward moving action steps each day, write it visualize it as done and take action.
9. This all takes a commitment, persistence and practice. However you do want to become unstuck don’t you?

Why Brain Surgery Time Management
On a call recently I asked the question “do you think brain surgeons leverage their time?” The discussion included the response that since brain surgery is so specialized there is no leverage. I explained that brain surgery may be the best example of optimal leverage. Nearly everything in advance of, during and following brain surgery is done by others. The brain surgeon evaluates the patient and concludes on the procedure only after a huge number of preliminary steps are taken. Then the actual procedure takes place when all the facilities, equipment and support staff are ready. When ready the surgeon uses his or her specialized skill and then turns most of the rest of the process over to support.
Critical Path
What makes the most difference? All the support before, during and after brain surgery is irrelevant without the surgeon using her or his skills and successfully operating. The surgeon is trained to work with all the support for a successful procedure. In business many people do all the steps themselves. This is why I am completely focused on identifying with clients the actions that make the most difference in achieving their business performance goals.
George Ross reminds us that 20% of what we do result in 80% of the income we earn. Wayne Allyn Root advises on a system of positive addictions with focus on actions that are directly related to goal achievement.

The message is inspirational. Inspirational material can be very powerful. Each person I coach, uses the accelerated accountability worksheet I have developed for planning weekly optimal performance. This plan is linked to a longer term financial goal that we reverse engineer to what is required today in order to meet and possibly exceed the goal. The first line of the accelerated accountability worksheet is “self development..mindset”. I started with that line for everyone based on my own experience observing my own life when I did this work first and when I didn’t. huge difference.
This video is a call to action and a reminder of being focused. Each of us has different interpretations of what the second half means and what we need to do to win the second half. The teams come out with a plan and adjust the plan based on a continual evaluation of new information. Each one of us can view videos like this one and other resource material and do one of two things:
1. smile and say “that’s nice”
2. develop an action plan on how we can become better in the second half then implement that plan.
