Be Honest ..What Is Your Instant Reaction To An Ad For A $64,950 Bed?

I instantly wanted to study the placement, the presentation and the copy. So the follow on question is did this presentation sell beds?

The company is not a client so there is no way for me to know for sure. My guess is that it is a very successful campaign even thought the copy is not very good and the graphics are just OK. So what makes me think the ad was very successful?

A two page foldout in a magazine published to appeal to wealthy people with the catch that $64,950 is for one bed is in itself intriguing. I am guessing those who have $100,000 in petty cash become very interested in this bed.

This article is not about a bed. The lesson is to appeal to your target audience. The company handcrafting this bed is not running the ad in ValPak. The placement is in a prestigious publication consistent with the quality and pricing of the product.

Valuable lesson. Pay close attention to ads and junk mail.

In a blog post today Lynn writes (excerpts – click above for the complete post): “It doesn’t matter if it’s an experienced speaker making the transition from fee based & keynote speaking to public speaking or if it’s someone just starting out who wants to be a speaker, author or Internet Marketer, they all seem to be struggling with the same key issues.”…..

“One thing is that the new people just getting into this industry of information marketing are spending thousands of dollars learning how to build a list or how to blog & podcast or they’ve gone to speaker training, or learn how to do teleseminars or how to drive traffic and they still don’t know what their topic is.”

In all fairness most people who are passionate about business, marketing on line and off line and developing their own independent business are buyers.  I am still a buyer and plan on attending even more events in the next 12 months. Each time I go to an event I buy products and consistently buy products that appear interesting. In many cases I want to see what someone else is doing.  I may be able to adopt some of their content to what I am working on. I think I am doing a better job of knowing my topics.

There is deeper issue and this is my comment to Lynn’s blog post:

….Hi Lynn, hope you are doing great. Your post presents several very interesting topics for discussion. That by the way is an great way of generating interest and attention on a blog based site.

There is no question that focus on a topic matter is very important. I think it is important to realize that if your topic is one that others also focus on that is good. The market is telling you there is demand. I know I have side stepped topics in the past because of “this has already been addressed” only to see someone else recycle the topic in a new package.

My thinking today as I continue to move forward with my consulting practice where I show companies How To Increase Revenue and Profits by 30% or More in 90 Days or Less with my process called “The Profit System” is that the dreams and desires of the individual must be met or anything that is successful will be short lived.

Using your example of a speaker who wants to take their keynote and develop it into an information product, if their motivation is the money it is likely going to be a mediocre product. The answers come when we are grounded on who we are. Anger, resentment, stress serve no purpose other than to make us sick and in some cases become the source for some disease. However, all of us have traditional programming so while we still have an ego driven reaction it is best to let time pass in a situation like the letter which could be similar to a challenging situation with your child, job, business or someone you just met at a service station.

The severity of the situation will guide you to the time you need and the support of others. There is no substitute for a powerful network. My career accelerated the fastest when there was a continual stream of terrific people coming into my life. Now my business position is different but there is no shortage of outstanding people. The Exact Steps To Increasing Profits In A Challenging Economy

There is a very important fact to understand that applies to every business…”nothing stays the same”. The current business environment in the United State is one where the real estate market in general is one with declining property values, the value of the dollar is declining, and revenue for many companies is under pressure.

So!!!

Companies struggle because they continue to do the same things while everything around them is constantly changing. Every business, in theory, has a primary goal of increasing revenue and profits. The process of achieving that goal is no different in an economy that is experience major challenges in key sectors than in one that is vibrant. There are a huge number of examples of companies thriving and failing in both strong economies as well as weak ones. The only thing that matters for your business is what is happening in your business in relationship to the clearly defined performance gaols you have set. Here is an example of a common situation that I have found in business. Business leadership will say, when the profits improve or when the cash flow improves or when this acquisition is done, or we fill this open position, or etc. then I will spend more time with my family or fishing or restoring my favorite antique or …well you get the idea. I submit to you the personal activity, whatever it is, never happens for those people even when those business milestones are achieved. If you are spending a lot of time with your professional mission, I hope you really love it. If you do not and you are frustrated because you are not spending time with your family, if you are not exercising like you should, if you are not enjoying your home, your car, your boat or your fishing pole then there is no way you will optimize the performance of your business. The negative personal energy will transmit throughout your organization and you will not consistently optimize your performance. If you have lifestyle issues, they need to be addressed. How do you think I know that?

The Exact Steps To Increasing Profits In A Challenging Economy:

1. Set clear clear measurable performance goals for the next 12 months. For example: Revenue and profit goal is an increase of 30%.
2. Understand and instill in the culture that performance goals for the next 12 months are achieved by what happens today. All parts of your business need to be in sync with achieving the goals for the company. As and example what do sales need to be this week and this month to hit the 30% growth goal? What does gross margin need to be and with what expense structure for the 30% growth in profit goal to be achieved?
3. Each function within the business must have clearly defined performance goals and defined accountability for achieving those goals.
4. An objective performance monitoring process must be in place to identify quickly any areas of unusually positive as well as shortfalls in performance. For the revenue, gross margin and expense driver areas of the company this usually means a formal weekly meeting along with informal daily monitoring. There are exceptions and one is where there is a cash crunch situation. Cash flow is then monitored very closely daily.

Cracking The Secret To The Law of Attraction For You and Your Business

In the book The Five Wishes the author asks the question: Imagine you are on your deathbed and you have just a short time before you leave the physical plane. A person walks up to your bedside looks at you and asks..has your life been successful?

Whatever part of your life that may have less than a positive response you have the opportunity to fix that now. The key is clear definition, commitment and action.

How does this have anything to do with question does the present create the future or does the future create the present? The future is absolutely created by the present energy you are sending out. If you are in a state of viewing everything as a problem, if you think everyone is out to get you, or everyone and everything is there in a less than perfect state so you are constantly angry about it then you will attract more of what will fuel that behavier.

So if you decide that a new career, a new or vastly improved relationship, a trip around the world or whatever it is that is part of your “yes answer” to the question has your life been successful, then commit right now to making that happen and take the steps necessary to make that happen. For me the real key was not in the intellectual understanding of what Stephen is saying and the congruency with my own belief system but how do I do this. How To Transform Your Business To An Accelerating Cash Profit Producing Machine

Are you a business owner, entrepreneur, direct marketer, internet marketer, network marketer or a person looking for the keys to success? If so this is must read information. Of course you don’t have to and you may not even “buy into” what I am presenting. I repeat: this is must read and must follow information.

Something has been missing. While I developed, implemented and proven the effectiveness of my 10 Minute MBA program, I knew that in a number of cases the success was not sustained. I rationalized this as a natural process of business owners slipping into to their previously established comfort zone.

In a way I used this seemingly natural regression as an opportunity to promote follow-on business consulting services. Now I understand that while ongoing services are valuable, the real reason for business performance to slip went deeper than the obvious failure to follow the established game plan that had been proven to work.

I also could see that in many instances that even when my Profit System was actively implemented and the business was hitting or even exceeding established milestones, something was missing.

When you are faced with a question where you don’t have the answer with confidence, what do you do? Well there is research of course and I did research this issue. Hundreds of hours of research. I also looked very carefully at those situations where people were hitting and exceeding the numbers consistently. I studied the contrasts.

I didn’t discover what I now feel is the answer until I examined my own experiences. I have been taught and influenced by my parents, my daughter, teachers, billionaires, priests, ministers, authors and very by all outward measures, successful internet and direct response marketers. There have been many other influencers but you get the idea. With all of this experience being taught and implementing a lot of what I was taught I found myself experiencing significant negative life situations. So I went to work to find out why. I went to work on myself.

This is not the forum for a description of the extent of that work. However, what I discovered literally transformed my life. This is an introductory article. I am suggesting you consider that if you are not on purpose there is no way for your business or you job to be satisfying – no way. Alternatively if you are on purpose and you use all the tools available to you, then not only will you be achieving your professional goals but more importantly you will be healthy, happy and at peace.

I suggest to you that being on purpose is more important than all the money you believe you want to make. Don’t misunderstand me. I want me and you to have all the abundance available for us while we are on this physical plane. I firmly believe there is unlimited abundance and I like that idea as much as anyone. At the same time, I remember the story about Andrew Carnegie in the book The Five Wishes. He was asked if his life was a success. He said he would give up all his money to have a truly happy marriage.

What is it that you wish for when asked if your life has been a success?

Sometimes It Is Helpful To Pause

Old Farmer’s Advice:

* Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight, and bull-strong.

* Keep skunks and bankers and lawyers at a distance.

* Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.

* A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor.

* Words that soak into your ears are whispered…not yelled.

* Meanness don’t jes’ happen overnight.

* Forgive your enemies. It messes up their heads.

* Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you.

* It don’t take a very big person to carry a grudge.

* You cannot unsay a cruel word.

* Every path has a few puddles.

* When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.

* The best sermons are lived, not preached.

* Most of the stuff people worry about ain’t never gonna happen, anyway.

* Don’t judge folks by their relatives.

* Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

* Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and think back, you’ll enjoy it a second time.

* Don’t interfere with somethin’ that ain’t botherin’ you none.

* Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.

* If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin’.

* Sometimes you get, and sometimes you get got.

* The biggest troublemaker you’ll probably ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin’.”

* Always drink upstream from the herd.

* Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.

How do I know that? I know that because of what I have experienced. So we need to focus on those business principles that work to build business strength and the Universal Principles of being in bliss regardless of the results we are experiencing in the physical plane. How To Achieve Quantum Success

There is a law of the Universe that gives us more when we appreciate what we have. This is published on Thanksgiving Day in the US. It seemed like a very fitting theme.

Charles Fillmore, co-founder of the Unity Church wrote “There is an inherent law of mind that we increase whatever we praise. The whole of creation responds to praise and thankfulness.”

What Is Appreciation?

Sandra writes: It’s the intention to live with gratitude, the conscious acknowledgment of the value within and around us, the willingness to notice all the good things we already have, and the desire to experience all of life this attitude. Then say “I can let this go and just DROP it. Finally COP and attitude of gratitude right away. Appreciation Journal

Everyone participating in Prosperity Now will be developing their own success journal. Part of this journal will be the “Appreciation Section” Some may find using a separate appreciation journal works even better. It doesn’t matter. The guidance is that each day write your list of what you appreciate. Now if you are in the COP part of the formula above and can’t think of anything to be grateful for, refer to your list.
